Rushing to the scene, he immediately started filing reports back to Australia. His description of the aftermath of the bombing paints a picture of unbelievable horror. Atkinson stayed on in Bali for another week, constantly filing reports back to Australia.
This book, told in diary form, relates his experiences as a journalist over that week. In doing so it gives a graphic insight, not only into the chaotic, emotion-filled experience of those who were there but also an insight into the news media at work.
