Peinture des conditions de vie des personnes queer dans la société anglaise des années 50 : ce livre m'a brisé. Le personnage de Patrick et son histoire me resteront longtemps en mémoire.

Une histoire tragique et poignante dont j'ai aimé la construction à travers les témoignages des deux personnages obligés de 'partager' l'homme qu'ils aiment. Il me reste toutefois un goût de 'trop peu' général qui ne m'a pas permis de vivre les émotions comme je l'aurais voulu ni de réellement donner la sensation de partager plus qu'un petit bout de l'existence des protagonistes.

J’ai adoré ! J’ai largement préféré le couple Tom x Patrick que Tom x Marion ! Ce n’est pas un coup de cœur car il y a beaucoup de points négatifs comme le personnage de Marion par exemple. Je l’ai trouvé insupportable et égoïste pendant tout le long du livre. Il y avait aussi pas mal de longueurs et de moment pas vraiment intéressant. Malgré ça, c’est un excellent livre ! Je recommande !

Malgré le rythme et l'écriture que je n'ai pas beaucoup aimé, l'histoire était prenante et les 3 personnages très interessants. Nous suivons des personnages avec des défauts et du bon développement.
